Case Brief & Work

The vision for Foodruns was to build a mobile-first, innovation-driven delivery platform—the first of its kind in Ibadan to fully integrate consumers and vendors via a single app. The primary goal was to lift the logistical burden from local restaurants while giving customers a convenient way to satisfy their cravings. Our research involved deep dives with local restaurant owners, which confirmed that handling delivery in-house was both expensive and operationally stressful.

The Task at Hand

The project required the creation of a high-speed, multi-platform solution capable of synchronized communication between three parties: the customer, the restaurant, and the admin. Key requirements included:

  1. Real-Time Notifications: Instant alerts for order placement and payment confirmation.

  2. Comprehensive Management: An admin panel to track customer profiles, manage diverse restaurant outlets, and monitor product listings.

  3. Secure Financial Integration: A reliable payment gateway to handle various local payment methods.

How We Helped

We moved from feasibility studies to a full-scale digital partnership to ensure the startup’s success:

  • Hybrid Development: Using a hybrid approach, we rapidly developed and deployed a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for Android, iOS, and the web, ensuring core functionalities were live for the launch.
  • Strategic Payment Integration: We integrated Paystack, allowing users to pay securely via card, bank transfer, or USSD codes.
  • Operational Partnership: Beyond development, we assisted in the business’s physical scaling, including marketing the product to restaurants and recruiting logisticians and accountants for daily operations.
  • Pre-Launch Momentum: To build anticipation, we designed a landing page and ran a social media contest offering free food tickets, driving immediate app downloads on launch day.
